My name is Raymond Kang from Chicago. In an attempt to provide reparations for my complicity in the 22+ months of horrors in occupied Palestine, I am creating this campaign for my friend Anwar Hamer and her family. Her words follow below (lightly edited for clarity):

My name is Anwar Abu Amer, a mother from Gaza. I am the mom of two precious boys—one is only three months old, the other just three years old. Before the war, I had a home, a family, and dreams. I was in my fifth year studying engineering at the Islamic University. My husband had a small project that supported us, and we lived a modest but comfortable life.
But on March 18th, everything changed forever. Our house was bombed in a horrific massacre. Twelve members of my family were killed. My husband, my baby, and I were pulled out from under the rubble, broken but alive. Since that day, we have been forced to start from nothing—our home, our livelihood, and my education have all been destroyed. My husband is now injured and unable to work.
Today, we are living in a tent with no basic necessities. My little baby urgently needs milk and diapers, and I struggle to find food for my children. All the dreams I once had—finishing my degree, building a future for my family—feel out of reach without help.
I am asking you, with all my heart, to stand with me in this darkest time. Your support will help me:
Provide milk, diapers, and food for my children
Ensure my family has the basic essentials of life
Give me the chance to one day continue my education and rebuild hope
