My name is Marah, I am 23 years old, and I have a child named Nidal who is 2 years old. My family and I are living the hardest and worst days of our lives since we were displaced from our village, Khuzʿa. We left our home—the home of our dreams and memories—and left everything behind because of the heavy bombing on our city. We lost everything. Please help us rebuild our home or leave Gaza to safety and peace.

We were at home—my husband, my child, and I—when suddenly there was heavy bombing around our house. We decided to leave in order to save our lives and protect our little one. We went to my parents’ house, and afterward, we were forcibly displaced to Khan Younis. That was where the real suffering began. We were left without any shelter, staying in schools for almost two months. Then we were forced out through the checkpoints, facing the soldiers, while bullets flew over our heads. Our lives were threatened every second.

After standing at the checkpoints and walking under the rain, carrying my little boy in my arms in the freezing cold, we walked for hours until we reached Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. At that time it was raining heavily, and we had nothing but our feet to carry us. That’s when the true hardship began. In Al-Mawasi, the weather was very cold because it is near the sea. We had no shelter, not even a tent. My husband, my child, and I found ourselves on the street with nowhere to go. We stayed outside until morning came. We then managed to make a small tent, but it is not livable and offers no real protection.

My child, Nidal, needs diapers, milk, and winter clothes, because he suffers from repeated colds due to lack of warm clothing. My husband and I also need winter clothes, as our home was burned and destroyed, and we could not bring any clothes with us. The weather is very cold, and we desperately need something to keep us warm.

We are living the hardest days of our lives. I hope you will stand by me so I can provide food for my family and so we can find a way to leave Gaza, to reach safety, and live in peace—my husband, my child, and I.

I hope for your help. Thank you very much. I love you all dearly.
