Peace By Piece in collaboration with Newmarket Aurora 4 Palestine are joining forces to raise funds and distribute direct aid to vulnerable displaced Palestinitians in Egypt.
When the borders of Gaza were briefly open, over 115,000 Palestinians fled in desperation — many paying an exorbitant fee to escape the genocide. Most of these families and individuals ended up displaced in Cairo, carrying little more than the clothes on their backs and the trauma of what they had endured.
Most arrived with nothing. They have no stable income, no savings (or used their savings to evacuate), and no means to provide for their families. Egypt’s struggling economy has left them without adequate support, pushing many into extreme poverty. Some are now living on the streets, relying on the kindness of strangers just to make it through the day.
Those in urgent need of medical care face another unbearable reality — hospitals require cash upfront, so many suffer silently in pain, sickness, severe isolation and discomfort. Many medical cases have been abandoned after relocation to Egypt or are receiving inadequate care in public hospitals. We have had several deaths from among our beneficiaries due to this systemic failure.
Families are not just financially devastated — they are emotionally torn apart and profoundly traumatized. Some parents were forced into the impossible choice of leaving loved ones behind in Gaza. Husbands separated from wives. Children without fathers. The heartbreak is constant.
Things we often take for granted — a safe place to sleep, a warm meal, basic medicine — are now the biggest struggles for these families. Rent, food, and urgent medical treatments have become luxuries out of reach.
Among the most vulnerable are the orphans — children who have lost one or both parents to the violence, left in unimaginable squalor with no consistent support system.
Our mission is simple but urgent: get funds directly into the hands of those who need them most. Through trusted contacts we have worked closely with for the past year and a half, we ensure that every donation goes where it’s needed — quickly, transparently, and with compassion and dignity.
