A cry for life from the rubble: The story of engineer Mohammed Siyam Hamad from Gaza

Short Description:

A young Palestinian engineer who lost his father, his home, and everything he owned Now living in a torn tent with his sick and displaced family, he still holds on to a dream: to continue his studies and build a better future for Gaza’s children. This is not just a story it’s a plea for life.

Full Story (Shortened Version) I am Engineer Mohammed Siyam Hamed, 23 years old, from Gaza. Since losing my father in 2019, have carried the burden of my family on my shoulders at a young age. Despite the hardship, I excelled in high school and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering with distinction.

But after the war began on October 7, 2023 we lost everything: Our four-apartment home, our poultry farm, our farmland – all destroyed. Everything my late father left us is gone. Now, I live with my sick mother, my ill brothers, and four young nephews – all under a torn tent. We suffer from extreme poverty, hunger, malnutrition, and lack of clean water. Some days, we don’t eat at all. The children’s faces have turned pale and fragile. And yet, I still hold onto one dream: To pursue a Master’s degree in Web Programming abroad and fulfill my late father’s wish – and one day, build a project that protects and educates Gaza’s children. So today, I reach out to you: Please support us with anything you can afford for food, medicine, and shelter. Help me continue my education and give hope to my family and to Gaza’s innocent children. We are not asking for luxury – just the right to survive. Thank you
