My name is Sakher, a Palestinian industrial engineer. I once lived a peaceful life in Rafah, in the Gaza Strip, with my beloved wife Somaia. In the midst of the war, our son Khaled came into this world — a symbol of hope in a time of unimaginable destruction. Today, he is only one year old. Our home, the place where we dreamed of raising him safely, was reduced to rubble in a single moment. Since then, every day has been a struggle for survival — finding food, clean water, and shelter. Khaled, as a growing child, needs baby formula, nutritious food, clean drinking water, warm clothes, and even small toys to comfort him in these difficult times. Somaia, my wife, has been suffering from severe exhaustion since giving birth and continues to feel pain from her C-section. She needs proper rest, healthy food, hygiene supplies, and access to medical care — things that are incredibly difficult to secure. I myself have chronic high blood pressure, and my medication is often unavailable. Even when I find it, it is extremely expensive due to the siege. To make things worse, in Gaza, converting funds from the bank into cash can cost up to 50% in extra charges. With platform and transfer fees, more than half of what we receive is lost before it reaches us. The funds from this campaign will be received by my brother in Germany, who will then send the money to us safely.
