Help little Karaz escape from Gaza,
Hello friends, My name is Sarah, an artist from Australia. I’m writing to you for Karaz, a four-year-old girl who miraculously survived the war in Gaza but lost her entire family to the bombings.
This is not just a fundraiser , it’s a plea to save a child who has been left alone in the world, carrying a story of both tragedy and hope.
The Story
At the beginning of 2024, I was trying to help a mother named Lamis evacuate from Gaza with her two young children, Kamal (7) and Karaz (4). Lamis was suffering from a severe brain tumour and was on the medical-evacuation list, but when the borders closed, her chance for treatment and survival vanished. Her husband had already disappeared at the start of the genocide and was never found.
In a devastating airstrike in July, Lamis and her son Kamal were killed. With the last strength of a mother’s love, Lamis shielded her children with her own body—saving Karaz’s life. At only four years old, Karaz became an orphan.
Call for Help
Today, Karaz needs us to give her safety and a future. I will be selling shirts and sweatshirts of my own design, together with contributions from other generous artists, and will dedicate all proceeds to supporting Karaz. Please see photos below.
