Hello, my name is Rawad. I am 18 years old and I am from Gaza.

Before the genocide, like so many young people in Gaza, I had hopes for brighter futures. My father worked as a dentist and I dreamed of following in his footsteps. I wanted to serve my people and make my family proud.

Unfortunately, the genocide shattered us on so many levels. We were able to evacuate and leave the war behind, but it still haunts my future. My father is out of work, and consequently unable to afford my university education. I can’t let the horrors we’ve been through kill my dream of studying dentistry, so I can support my father as we try to rebuild a life after genocide.

We are now in Egypt and I have the ability to register for university through a program called al Wafedeen, which enables me to receive a discount on university courses. However, the registration fee for the program is $3,000. I need to register as soon as possible so that I can restart my education. Any excess will contribute towards the course fee itself.

With your help, I will be able to carry on working towards a better life for myself and my family. The genocide threatened our lives but thanks to your support it won’t steal our future.
