What can I do in response to the inhumanity people in Gaza are living? This is a question many of us are asking. Some of us feel helpless, many of us are on the streets protesting, trying to pressure our governments to act. We know that the Palestinian people are systematically being killed either through bullets or forced famine. We have seen the devastation and destruction throughout Gaza, with most of the strip in rubble.
This campaign offers a very practical way in which you can help. A young family, miraculously, has left Gaza to Slovenia. A wife, husband and two young children are seeking refuge in Ljubljana Slovenia. Now we need to raise money for their first year so they may cover their living expenses and begin their life anew.
Being able to establish their own home, a place where they can begin to reweave their lives and feel safe again is essential. The children can go to a school, make friends, the parents can seek employment and begin to set the course of their family again.
Living expenses in Ljubljana are high, especially rent. The money offered will go to support this family’s monthly living expenses for 12 months. We estimate approximately €1500 per month, which comes to the amount of money we are asking to raise – 18,000 Euros.
You can sponsor a month worths of support, or even one day. Whatever you can offer is of great help and we invite you to offer what you can and a little bit more.
Enabling this family to move past the insufferable pain they have endured from the loss of their family, home and homeland is an act of humanity.
