This campaign is for my dear friend, Doha. Her are her words:

My name is Doha Abu Ajwa. I’m 25 years old, a graduate in Legal Studies, and the eldest daughter in my family. Before the war, I was a proud, ambitious young woman with big dreams and the drive to make them real.

I had started my own small business—a store selling homemade food. I was also an artist, creating handcrafted goods, and worked in a sewing factory. I was independent, resourceful, and doing everything I could to support my family. We finally had a home of our own after 14 years of moving between rented apartments. Life was simple, but it was good.

Then the war came—and it destroyed everything.

Our home, which took 17 years of savings and sacrifice, was reduced to rubble in seconds. My food business—gone. The sewing factory where I worked—destroyed. We now struggle to find even the most basic necessities like flour or clean water.

My father, who should be with us during this crisis, has been separated from us because of the war. My only brother was seriously injured.

Although he survived, his injury left him with a major disability that makes walking difficult.

I am now the sole provider for my entire family.

Every day, I fight just to keep us alive—to secure food, water, and shelter. We once had dreams and projects… now, we only dream of a loaf of bread.

I am reaching out to ask for your help—not for charity, but for a chance to rebuild. I want to restart my food business, to support my family with dignity and to create a stable life for us once again.

But more than that, I dream of getting my family out of Gaza—to live somewhere safe, where we are treated like human beings, not forgotten statistics in a warzone.

We are not superheroes. We are ordinary people who just want to live in peace.

If you’ve read this far, thank you for seeing us. And if you can help—even in the smallest way—you’re giving us more than just money. You’re giving us hope.

For the last week or so, Doha has sent voice messages with recordings of the nonstop sound of bombings and gunfire outside their tent. In the last 24 hours they have received notice that the area where they’re located is not designated a dangerous combat zone. Now that that’s happened, prices for transportation to the “safe” part have risen dramatically, and there is nowhere to place a tent in the area that doesn’t require rent. If they aren’t able to leave soon, I’m scared for their chances of survival. Doha is such an incredible young woman trying so hard to help her family survive. Whatever you can do to donate, share, and pray for them is so deeply appreciated.
