My name is Asim Sheikh Khalil. I’m 32 years old, living with my wife in Gaza, and we are expecting our first baby.
This should be a time of joy and hope—but instead, it’s full of fear and uncertainty.
We’re currently in the second trimester of pregnancy. My wife is doing her best to stay strong, but we are deeply worried about her health and the health of our unborn child. With the war, siege, and skyrocketing food prices, it is nearly impossible to get the proper nutrition she needs to carry this pregnancy safely to term. Even basic foods like vegetables, milk, eggs, and protein-rich meals have become luxuries we can’t afford.
We have no income. Our home was destroyed. We’re starting from nothing, with no family support and no resources—and our baby hasn’t even arrived yet.
