Hello, my name is Lisa Petrov and I created this campaign to raise funds for my friend Heba Abu Helal and her family of seven. All donations will be sent to Heba as direct aid; I will personally cover all transfer fees. Heba now lives in Egypt with her husband and their five children, Reham, Ammar, Obaida, Yazan, and the youngest Mira.
They survived and left Gaza just before the crossing in Rafah closed in 2024. In Egypt they are struggling to recreate a sense of normalcy for the five children, ages 4 to 14. There are many needs, medical, dental, educational and essential every day ones too.
Their home and all their plans for the future were destroyed. They are now displaced and in need of money for rent, food, and the expenses related to the education and health of their five children. There are no options open to them for work in Egypt without legal residency. They face an increasingly uncertain future. Your support means everything and is a lifeline to their survival.
The family needs us all to stand with them, in solidarity. Donations are 100% direct aid to them for living expenses. It’s a direct means of survival and safety for them. Please donate in confidence, any amount you can and help this family survive and remake their shattered lives.
UPDATE: The family has received three payouts to date (July 31, 2025). The money is keeping them housed, fed and safe. They are eternally grateful for the grace shown them, and the generosity of all donors.
