Help Paulinho Attend Permaculture Training & Empower Thousands More in Nakivale Refugee Camp.
Australia
I met Paulinho during Covid in 2021, when he was invited by Nora Bateson to join a People need People gathering online. A PNP is an online version of a Warm Data Lab: https://batesoninstitute.org/ Paulinho joined us with others in the dark from the Nakivale Refugee Camp in Uganda. Paulinho escaped war from the DRC to Uganda at 23yrs. After living in Kampala for a while he was able to receive Refugee Status and come to Nakivale. Paulinho decided to create his home in the camp. After meeting Paulinho I was inspired to support his dream to create a flouishing life as a refugee in the Camp.
Below is Paulinho’s request to support the next step in his learning journey to transform the lives of his fellow refugees in Nakivale. My name is Paulinho Muzaliwa , I’m a permaculture teacher, environmental activist, and refugee leader. I’m originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, but I was forced to flee my country due to conflict and insecurity. Since 2017, I’ve been living in Uganda as a refugee. In response to the challenges I faced, in 2021, I founded Unidos Social Innovation Center https://unidosprojects.org/. This refugee-led, award-winning organization has empowered over 5,000 refugees, especially youth and women, through regenerative practices like permaculture and inclusive entrepreneurship. Our mission is simple: help refugees co-create opportunities, restore degraded land, and build sustainable livelihoods together. Now, I have an opportunity to take part in a transformational Agroforestry and Permaculture Training in Kenya, which I believe will sharpen my skills, deepen my impact, and help me train even more people across refugee communities.
Train hundreds more refugees as permaculture leaders and community educators.
Expand Unidos’ impact across settlements and host communities.
Build resilience and food security through regenerative agriculture.
I’m raising 1000$ to cover:
Tuition and training fees
Travel and accommodation
Learning materials and tools
Community re-entry workshops after the training
Every dollar you give brings us closer to a world where refugees don’t just survive ,they thrive, lead, and regenerate.
Donate whatever you can , no amount is too small.
Share this campaign with friends, family, and networks.
Follow my journey and be part of a movement dedicated to healing both people and the planet from Nakivale Refugee Camp.
Thank you for believing in me and the work we’re doing to transform crisis into possibility
