Help Israa and Her Family Escape Gaza
United States
I am Isra Hammad, married with two children and my infant daughter, whom I gave birth to during the war. During my pregnancy, I suffered from malnutrition and lack of treatment or even healthcare. At the beginning of the war, I was displaced from our home to Rafah. After that, I lost my home and all my family, and all that remained with me was my father, who was bedridden. He had cancer and needed urgent healthcare and surgeries. Sadly he passed away and I was truly devastated. We lived in a tent. I spent the winter there, where the weather was extremely cold. My children suffered from illnesses and a lack of diapers and milk. The occupation also besieged us, and the situation worsened, as the occupation captured my husband and took him away in front of my eyes. He has been missing for 18 months and is still missing. I do not know if he is alive or dead. My daughter was born in a small nylon tent, where the heat is unbearable for any human being for more than a few minutes, so what if we lived in it for more than 18 months!! We lost our most basic rights as we suffered from hunger and polluted water that was not fit for drinking. Save my children, I have no one else left.
We don’t deserve to die this way, so I ask you to help me evacuate from Gaza to Egypt as soon as the borders open. The cost of saving one person’s life is $5,000, so we need $15,000, and more for living expenses. We just want to survive and nothing more.
