My name is Yousuf Abu Taha. I’m a 27-year-old structural engineer and interior designer from Gaza, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart, hoping the world still has space for voices like mine.

Before the war, I was living a stable and purposeful life. I had worked hard for years to build a future for myself and my family. I was building my home in Rafah, getting ready to start a new chapter with the woman I hoped to marry. I had dreams — simple ones: a safe home, a loving family, and a life of dignity.

But then everything changed.

Since the war began, my family and I have been displaced five times. Each time we moved, we carried less with us — until we had almost nothing left. Today, we live in a tent, facing unimaginable hardships: no clean water, no electricity, no sanitation, and very little food. The prices of basic goods have skyrocketed, and the streets I once walked freely are now filled with rubble and sorrow.

The house I spent years building — brick by brick — has been reduced to dust. My career, my plans, my stability… all gone in a matter of moments.

I’ve always believed in working hard and living with dignity. Asking for help is not easy for me. But the reality is: I can’t do this alone. I’ve lost not just my home and my job, but the very foundation I was building my life on.

This fundraiser is my humble call for support — to help me and my family survive the present and rebuild whatever we can for the future. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward basic essentials: food, shelter, safety, and hopefully, one day, the chance to start again.

If you can donate or even just share this message, you would be making a real difference in my life.

Thank you for reading my story. Thank you for caring.
