Menna and her Family — From Genocide, Displacement, and Famine: A Voice the World Must Hear
France
Hi everyone, i’m Sarah and I created this campaign to help my friend Menna in Palestine. GoFundMe already blocked her campaign once so we switched to Chuffed. As you may know the genocide is still going and the life conditions are becoming harder to deal with. Menna and her family still need as much help we can provide to them.
PS : I’ll provide updates from Menna to let you know how her situation is evolving.
I am Menna, from Gaza — now displaced, living in a tent.
I entered this brutal war as a 17-year-old girl, full of dreams and ambition. I was determined to build a future in my field, to shape a path among my peers. But everything changed in an instant.
The war erupted — and now, nearly two years later, I am 19. It breaks my heart to say this war has taken everything from me. It destroyed my home, my memories, my warmth, my safety. It stripped me of my dreams and ambitions. It ended my education before it even began.
Today, instead of continuing my studies like others my age, I fight every day just to survive. Death in Gaza has become terrifyingly easy — it comes in many forms. Hunger is the most persistent enemy, and it is consuming us all. I’ve grown too weak to even stand straight, as food is scarce and its quality unbearable.
As a young woman, I feel crushed when I see girls elsewhere living in comfort and safety, while I can barely access basic necessities. Even menstrual pads have become nearly impossible to find — either they’re too expensive or completely unavailable. Sunscreen to protect me from Gaza’s scorching sun is a luxury I can’t imagine, though I sit daily near fire to cook for my family or scrub piles of dishes and laundry.
We girls in Gaza have lost the right to be cared for. Instead, we’ve become caretakers — doing our best to support our families amid an unforgiving economic crisis and soaring prices. Even the most basic needs — flour, sugar, oil — are now out of reach.
All I ask is that you don’t leave me to face this pain alone. Please, be the family I’ve lost. Stand beside me. Help me carry this burden. Share my story, support me, and keep my hope alive.
