My name is Christa and I am organizing this fundraiser for the loving father of four and a beloved friend, Mahmoud Suleiman.
Hello everyone, my brothers and sisters. I am Mahmoud Suleiman, a Palestinian, writing to you from the heart of devastation in Gaza. We are a family of six; my children, Raghad, Hassan, Mohammed and Zain, my wife Toha and myself. I call upon your support for us to survive this constant anxiety, hunger and danger we live in. At the beginning of the war, our home in Gaza city was destroyed in the bombings. Many of our neighbours and relatives lost their lives. My family and I narrowly escaped death. Throughout the war, my family and I have been constantly on the run, moving from place to place, uncertain of where we will end up or how we will survive. We have been on the streets and through sheer luck we have escaped death many times. Today our home is a tent in a camp in the Khan Yunis area, where we pay a fee for the spot we live on. To this day we have experienced the suffering from killing, hunger, disease, genocide, cold and rain that poured into our tent. For over a year and a half, we have under constant bombardment, war, gunfire, and for month now the crossing have been closed into Gaza, Food is scarce and when available the prices are extreme. There is no clean water, so we drink polluted salt water to survive. I am deeply grateful for the love, support, beautiful words and any contribution you see yourself fit to make. Even the smallest contribution will help us to survive and make it possible for us to start over, in peace.
