Hello everyone, my name is Noor Ahmed. I am a 29-year-old young woman from Beit Lahia in north Gaza but my family and I were forced to displace to Jabalia, north Gaza. I turn to you today with a heavy heart, but also a heart filled with hope that you will support my family and I during this ongoing time of suffering and calamity. The genocide has gone on for longer than we expected. So far it has been 20 months and it is still ongoing. We don’t know when it’s going to end. Until then, we need your help. We need your help now more than ever as the conditions intensify and circumstances get harder and harder.
The genocide took everything from me and continues to rob me of my loved ones, friends and memories. My family, my home, my dreams—everything is getting destroyed in an instant. Two of my brothers have been martyred and my father is not with us yet. He has been taken hostage/captive and has not returned yet. At least when my brothers were around they helped me take care of our remaining family members and they were my support system. They shared the load with me and I could count on them and lean on them for support. But now my two brothers are gone and will never come back. I am left all alone to take care of my remaining 9 family members. I don’t know when my father will come back to us.
It is no secret to anyone that the situation in Gaza is terrible. Every single day is a fight and struggle for survival. There are no jobs and there is no way for us to make money. This fundraiser is our only source of income and our only method of survival. The prices of even the most basic items and essentials like food continue to increase in Gaza making it even more difficult to afford even a bit of food for me and my family. The commission fees have also approached 50%+ which means almost half or even more of the donations get deducted by the time we receive the money. There is no way that me and my family will survive without your donations. I cannot keep us alive and fed without you.
Despite all of this, I still have dreams of a better life. I am still holding onto my wishes and plans for the future. But I cannot get there without your help.
I ask you for help with all of my heart. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a big difference and will help me and my family survive to build a bright future and a better tomorrow. Your donations will save us from starvation, allow us to buy life essentials and necessities, secure our livelihood and, when the time comes, help us rebuild our destroyed home.
