Help Mahmoud’s Family Survive After 14 Displacements

My name is Megan, and I’m organising this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Mahmoud, a 22-year-old from Gaza City. He and his family have been displaced fourteen times. Their home in Shujaiya was destroyed in an airstrike, along with the family business. Despite everything they’ve lost, they’ve returned to Gaza City to rebuild—living now in a tent on the rubble of what was once their home.

Mahmoud lives with his mother, who has nerve damage from an airstrike, his two sisters, four brothers, and his young nieces and nephews. It’s a large family, and their situation is desperate. They often go without enough food. Prices are rising daily—a single sack of flour now costs around $600 USD—and only 1 in 10 people in Gaza have access to clean water.

Mahmoud is doing everything he can to help others, even while struggling himself. He volunteers with Luna Water Project, delivering clean water to other displaced families in Gaza. I’m constantly inspired by his resilience and generosity.

He told me recently:

“I am looking for food for my family, but it is very difficult to get. There is some food—but we can’t buy it.”

Mahmoud never complains. But the truth is, his family is facing hunger, exhaustion, and the impossible task of surviving the aftermath of more than a year of war, loss, and displacement.

What We’re Raising Funds For: Your donation will help provide Mahmoud’s family with:

Food Clean drinking water Clothing and blankets Medical needs Temporary shelter and supplies

Even small donations help relieve the immense pressure this family is under.

Thanks to your generous donations, Mahmoud and his family were recently able to buy some proper food for the first time in months. After surviving on little more than lentil soup and rice, the small relief in market prices combined with your support has given them a chance to share a real meal together.

Mahmoud continues to work tirelessly to organise water trucks that bring clean drinking water to families in Gaza, even as his own situation remains deeply uncertain. He and his family are still in Gaza City, where the threat of displacement to the south grows stronger every day.

Your support not only helps his family endure these impossible conditions but also enables Mahmoud to keep serving his community with courage and compassion.

Thank you for standing with him.

I’m so greatful that this campaign has finally started getting some support! Currently skin conditions are spreading quickly in the displacement camps, due to overcrowding and lack of hygeine supplies. Israel blocks soap and hygeine items from entering Gaza, causing high prices. Mahmoud is trying to raise money to buy soap for his family, so please continue to support them <3 Anonymous
