“I am Bashar Rushdi Hamad, a football player for Beit Hanoun Al-Ahli Club in Gaza.
I once had big dreams—dreams of becoming a professional football player. But the war came and destroyed everything, crushing what remained of our hopes. Sports have stopped, life has come to a halt, and I can no longer support my family or even provide the most basic needs for survival.
Today, food has become our biggest dream, yet it is nowhere to be found. We have no money, no shelter, and no life. I never imagined I would have to ask for help, but the war and destruction we are living through have left us with no other choice. Your support has become our only hope in this devastated reality.
Our homes were demolished, our jobs vanished, and I am unable to feed those I love.
I am responsible for 12 family members, and my father is disabled and unable to work. I carry this heavy burden alone.
We have lost many dear ones—martyrs from my family and friends. All we have left is patience and prayer.”
