Help Şirin’s Husband Get to the UK

Şirin is a friend of mine who lives in the West Country in the UK with her two young children. Her husband, Nour, is stuck in Gaza.

Şirin is a UK citizen, but her husband is Palestinian, and because of that, the home office have turned down her application for him to get a visa to allow him to join her in the UK. She now needs to extend her use of a solicitor to allow her to appeal that decision, but she’s run out of funds.

Nour was in Gaza because he was looking after his elderly mother. He was originally looking after her in the family home, but they were forcefully displaced to a tent, in an area that is bombed daily (despite it supposedly being a ‘safe zone’). He is having to buy food from local merchants, as it’s too risky to go to the US run aid distribution point, because so many have been killed and injured while going there to collect aid. Food has become very scarce and ridiculously expensive, as no aid has been allowed in for 3 months. So Nour has run out of funds even to survive.

So I told Şirin I would try to raise funds for her legal battles so that they can try to get him evacuated as soon as possible.
