Help Sabreen, her husband, and their little girl survive in Gaza
United States
My name is Sarah and I am in Wisconsin, USA. I have created this campaign for Sabreen and her family to collect donations for the difficult situation in Gaza that our Palestinian friends face every day. Your generous donations will supply this family with funds to purchase food and essential needs. Thank you in advance, any amount helps!
From Sabreen:
My name is Sabreen. I’m writing to you from Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, asking for your support to help my family survive. My husband and I are doing our best to care for our little girl. She needs milk, food, and diapers. I was pregnant with my daughter, Jannah, during the war and gave birth to her during the war, when life here was filled with heavy bombing, destruction, and the deafening sound of airplanes. We protect our daughter as much as we can from the violence that surrounds us. But it is inevitable. Our beloved Jannah is 10 months old, which means she has spent more than her entire life surviving this. That means 75% of her young life living in fear, trying to survive. I’m so afraid their little hearts won’t be able to handle this fear. When she can’t sleep because of the bombs, I show her videos of peaceful places filled with waterfalls and animals. I tell her to imagine we are there, safe and sound.
My baby, and all our children, deserve safety and full bellies. They deserve to fall asleep to lullabies, not the sound of bombs. They deserve their childhood and the opportunity to grow up.
Although we started this campaign to collect donations to evacuate the area, we had to use it to survive until the crossing was opened.
Raising children requires a lot of effort, doesn’t it? I ask you to be a part of me. Your support, however big or small, directly impacts our lives. We are so grateful.
My love,
Sabreen
