MIT Mutual Aid Fund for Families and Students in Sudan
United States
* We are MIT Students drawing from various backgrounds and coalitions who love the Sudanese people and started this grassroots initiative to show our solidarity with them and give them the dignity they deserve. * As MIT students, we recognize that our institution is complicit in many ways in the ongoing RSF genocide and forced displacement of millions of Sudanese people, through their investments/collaborations in UAE-based companies/initiatives. This mutual aid effort is a small step towards rectifying that and showing the world who the students of MIT stand with.
* Help dozens of families and students on the ground in Sudan. * Work with aspiring Sudanese engineering students/scholars * Facilitate basic necessities for life: food, cooking supplies, water, and medicine * Volunteer network serves various locations: Omdurman (Khartoum), Asalyia Alhajr (White Nile State), El Damer (River Nile State), East Nile (Khartoum), and Port Sudan
* US-based team of MIT students collects donations and sends money directly to volunteer network on the ground in Sudan to deliver goods personally. * 100% of money we receive goes to aid; we keep none of it. * We post regular updates to mmasupdates.my.canva.site as well as to the @sudanese_mit Instagram: instagram.com/sudanese_mit * See our new website up at: mogranmutualaid.org
* There are 2 main areas your money can support: 1. General aid for Sudanese families 2. Educational support for aspiring Sudanese engineering students. * No amount is too small, and consider setting up a small recurring donation. * Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “… the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little.” [Sahih Bukhari]
