Break the Siege: Rescue Yaser and His Family

Help Yaser Abu Amra and His Family Escape Gaza
My name is Rami Mroz, and I’m asking for your help to save the life of my dear friend, Yaser Abu Amra, and his family. I first met Yaser on a trip to Gaza City in 2005. His warmth, resilience, and generosity left a deep impression on me. After years without contact, I was overjoyed to learn that he is still alive—but that joy quickly turned to heartbreak when I heard about the unthinkable conditions he and his family are now enduring.
Since the war began, Yaser, his wife, and their young son have been forced to flee multiple times—first from their home in Gaza City, then from Deir al-Balah, then Al-Qarara, and now Khan Yunis. They have lived in tents through rain, cold, and bombing raids, with no electricity, cooking gas, or clean water. Yaser has described days when he and his son walked miles just to fetch a few liters of water. Basic food like tomatoes has skyrocketed to $30 per kilo. Everything they once owned, including their home—which Yaser had not even finished paying for—was reduced to rubble.
His son is suffering. Already ill with alopecia, the trauma of war has severely impacted his mental and physical health. The boy now struggles to speak, stuttering with every word. He has witnessed bodies in the street. He’s lived under fire. He is a child of war who deserves a chance at life and healing.
I am launching this campaign to raise $144,000—a number I believe God placed on my heart—as the full cost to help Yaser’s family receive urgent medical treatment for their son and to secure a path to safety outside Gaza. Every dollar raised will go directly toward medical care, evacuation costs, travel documents, food, shelter, and the long journey toward freedom and recovery.
This is a matter of life and death. I can personally vouch for Yaser’s integrity, faith, and enduring spirit. Despite losing everything, he continues to protect his family with dignity and grace.
Whether you can give $5 or $5,000, please give what you can. Share this campaign widely. Stand with Yaser in his darkest hour. Let’s show him that he is not forgotten—that compassion can cross every border, and that love can break through any siege.
We cannot undo the horrors he and his family have seen, but we can help them find safety. We can help a sick child get treatment. We can lift a family from despair into hope.
From the depths of my heart, thank you.
