Help Mohanad’s family in Gaza
United States
My name is Mohanad Al-Masry, a 27-year-old man from the heart of war-torn Gaza City. I graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Palestine University in Gaza. I had a job at a contracting company and dreamed of a future where I would contribute to building my city and serving my community. But that dream was suddenly shattered and turned into rubble when the occupation destroyed my home and workplace.
The occupation didn’t just destroy buildings; it destroyed years of hope, education, and life itself. Today, we live in unbelievable conditions. There is no food, no safety, no medicine, and fear surrounds us at every moment. I carry a huge responsibility. I am married and have a family of five: my wife, my children, Mohammed, who is six years old, Elena, who is three, and Haitham, who is one. I am responsible for their care.
My young son, Haitham, was born during the war, during the displacement from Rafah.
During childbirth, my wife suffered a difficult delivery, which resulted in Haitham’s collarbone being broken. This affected the nerves in his right hand, leaving him unable to move it. My son, Haitham, needs to travel abroad for treatment and ongoing physical therapy sessions.
Border crossings are closed, aid is scarce, and hunger is slowly consuming our bodies. We are not asking for much—just a chance to survive, just a hand to help us endure.
I appeal to you from the bottom of my heart: Help me feed my family and treat my child, Haitham. Every donation, no matter how small, means life to us.
