Hello my name is Jonny Hagstrom and I am from the United States, and I am fundraising on behalf of Alaa Shihady (pictured above), Raghda Manar, and Alaa’s sister’s family of five, two families currently trapped in Gaza, As of now, most funds will go towards food and basic security. Money is extremely necessary right now. if you are able, donating is highly important. Here are their words and story:

To those with compassionate hearts and human consciences, with greater sadness and pain, I address to you today an urgent appeal on behalf of my grieving family to revive a small part of the hope that we lost because of this unjust and cruel war. I address you from the heart of Gaza while I am in the depths of my depression and pain after losing everything: our homeland, our security, and many dreams and aspirations. About Me: I am Alaa, 29 years old, an electrical engineer, and my wife Raghda is 26 years old, My sister, Suhair, who is 28 years old, is married to Murad, and has 3 children: Khaled, 7 years old, Atalla 4 years old, Jud 1 year and 2 months old And my 87-year-old grandmother. I am writing to you and talking about the most difficult and terrifying situation a person can experience. Until October 6, we had a big dream and hope filled our hearts for a happy and secure life like other peoples. I had many plans that I want to achieve with my wife, whom I have only been married to for a short time. I was hoping for a small house that would bring me together with my family, with whom I dream of living in safety, but the outbreak of war turned our world upside down. Our house, which was full of laughter and love, now bears scars. the war. The little business that my wife and I poured our hearts into is now in ruins. Which led to the erasure of years of education, hard work and dreams.

Everything was destroyed, our homes and dreams, everything was destroyed and we were left without a source of livelihood (income).

We were moved from our homes to tents, and left without food or drink. In addition, everything we owned was destroyed and our house was destroyed. At the same time, we lost some of our family members including children, women and men. Where we began to wish that the days would return and we would be as we were and nothing more.

And now after this miserable war we are in, We have been abandoned by those near and far. We will have no future, no education, no dreams, and no life. We hope to find help and support to rebuild what was destroyed by war and seek a better future for us and our children. Your support means a lot to us, a little help will make a big difference.

I have an injury in my right shoulder, as shown in the pictures, due to a cancerous tumor in the shoulder that led to the removal of the shoulder and the implantation of an artificial shoulder. Due to my critical condition, I need continuous medical follow-up and care. The harsh conditions in Gaza make access to proper healthcare extremely difficult. My sister Suhair’s family consists of 5 members. Her husband suffers from a bleeding blood vessel (inguinal hernia), which prevents him from working. Her children were deprived of education and healthy food that would help them grow, and of the minimum basic requirements of daily life, such as the right to play and dress. And her young child, who suffers from skin diseases such as fungi due to the lack of diapers and this is due to polluted water. They have lost their home and been displaced several times. Now they live with us in one place, and this is hardly enough for 8 people, not to mention the extreme cold at night and the bitter winter
