Palestinian asylee from Gaza in medical debt

Hello! The previous campaign for Yousef’s family can not receive donations anymore, unfortunately with the on going American threats against protestors and citizens standing with Palestine. I am a Canadian citizen who has taken over the reception of donations.
Yousef and his family are asylees from Gaza living in Egypt. They have not chosen to come here willfully, they were displaced by the genocide, fleeing for their lives, paying an extraordinary amount to be granted illegal refuge in Egypt. Palestinians do not have access to refugee status. They are protected under UNRWA rather than UNHCR, which means they do not have guaranteed protection for their human rights. They can not be employed legally, they can not have health insurance, nor can they leave Egypt legally. After surviving in a contaminated Gaza, they can not go without health care, and yet they are forced to pay inflated rates for treatment.
Last month, Yousef’s younger brother had an urgent open heart surgery. The cost for this treatment is paid on foreigner rates. This put the family in a $50k usd medical debt. With your help we were able to raise $28k before the campaign had to be closed. This debt can not go unpaid, or he can be ordered to do jail time in a dangerous prison.
Additionally, the family needs rental support every month. Egypt is not privileged with furniture banks and open food kitchens like Western & European nations.
This family of survivors needs to heal. ANY amount donated can be lifesaving. Every dollar will prevent on going trauma of being denied their dignity and humanity. Thank you for your support
