In 2021, Edinburgh Refugee Sponsorship Circle (ERSC) welcomed our first family to Scotland. Since then, they’ve built a life here — school, college, friendships, and a strong sense of belonging.
Now, their home is unexpectedly at risk. The landlord needs to sell, and within Edinburgh’s Housing Emergency, the family could face major and longterm instability.
But here’s the good news: we have a real chance to turn this into something hopeful and lasting.
With a generous donation of £80,000 already in place, we’re working with to buy the property and place it in a community trust. This would allow us to rent it back at affordable, council-level rent — protecting the family’s home and creating a sustainable model for future resettlement.
We’re now looking to raise £10,000 more to expand the transformative impact of this initative— and we’re inviting you to be part of it.
