Hello, our names are Nour and Roaa. We are 16 and 17 years old. We lived in northern Gaza, but we have been displaced and escaped death several times since October 2023. Our father was martyred when I was less than a year old, but our mother continued to survive by obtaining a master’s degree and then a doctorate in psychology. She worked so hard until she was able to build a house for us that was scheduled to be completed two days after October 7th. This house has since been destroyed along with everything that we own except the clothes on our backs.

Our grandfather was scheduled to have a spinal operation on 15/10/2023 in the Arab Republic of Egypt. We saved money for the scheduled operation, but all of what we saved was spent during the war on food and meeting most of the needs, but the matter did not go well due to the brutal war, especially in northern Gaza where we live, and the situation became much worse. Much more than before, and he could no longer walk at all. We started carrying him to go to the bathroom until he started using a wheelchair. Our grandmother also suffers from health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure and we are unable to provide them with medication and appropriate food because of the crazy high prices and the lack of money to buy what we need.

They suffer from malnutrition, and all children suffer from malnutrition, and most of them contract hepatitis and bacteria in the intestines due to polluted water because of the animal feed that we were forced to eat due to the lack of aid and basic needs. To this day, they complain of stomach pain and there is no medicine for them due to the hospitals in northern Gaza being out of service. Other than that, they developed psychological illnesses due to the barbaric bombing, moving from one place to another, and the extreme cold that tore their bodies apart.

It is very difficult to say that we have lost everything, it is like a recurring nightmare that we live every day. We lost our beautiful, peaceful lives and our warm, safe homes, but we are grateful to be alive.

Our dreams of a bright and promising future have been shattered. We no longer have anything but our clothes. We have been terrified many times, but one of the worst was when we were besieged in shelter school. Bullets flew all around us as women screamed and children cried for their parents. All young men over the age of 15, even the elderly and the infirm, were taken. Among those was my sick, paralyzed grandfather and two of my uncles, one of whom was still under 18. Later, my grandfather was released without his two children. My younger uncle was released later, but he was beaten and electrocuted, and there was no place left on his body that wasn’t beaten. My other uncle’s fate remain unknown to this day. After, soldiers forcefully took us out of the shelter and forced us to walk with my sick grandparents to a far place, while they terrorized us amidst gunfire. We arrived at Jabalia camp after several hours of walking to the house of one of our relatives, but many of us did not find a place to go and now live on the street because the place they were in is small. Luckily, the children, my sick grandfather, and my sick grandmother were accommodated. Many other times, the buildings next to us were bombed and so we keep moving. We have now narrated to you a small part of what we are suffering in this accursed war with these barbarians who do not know the meaning of man and humanity except that everyone is harmed by their actions, big and small.

Please support us so we can survive, find shelter, food, water, and rebuild our lives. We hope for your support in helping us reach our goal and to safety.Thank you, kind-hearted people, for your efforts, support, and assistance to us in light of this tragedy.
