8/13 URGENT UPDATE: Due to the passage of a new bill, immigration fees have been set at an all time high. What used to be a $50 court fee, has now increased to $1,150 as of July, 2025. Your help is needed!

Since this fundraiser was initially posted, our young lady has completed her GED, found a job, and enrolled in community college in addition to saving money for her court fees. She expresses her deep gratitude to all who have donated and helped to spread the word about her campaign.

Help Save Her Future—Before It’s Too Late

This is the story of a young woman who has fought for her life every step of the way.

Growing up in Haiti, she endured unimaginable trauma when she was brutally assaulted by gang members at 17. A teacher once described her as always having a positive attitude, and even then, she refused to let fear define her future. She fled to the Dominican Republic with her younger sister, determined to build a better life. With resilience and talent, she started her own business crafting handmade goods (bracelets, handbags, shoes, and more) to support herself.

In 2024, hope finally led her to the United States, where she sought asylum in California. Since coming to Louisville, she has become a vital part of her local Haitian church and is working tirelessly to earn her GED with the JCPS Adult Education program. Her intelligence and drive paid off when she passed the math and social studies subtests – exams that even native English speakers struggle with for years.

Her dream is simple yet profound: to walk across the stage at graduation this May, go to college for accounting, and give back to the Haitian community.

But now, her dream is in danger.

A recent executive order has placed her at immediate risk of deportation. If forced to return to Haiti, she faces not only an end to her education and dreams, but it will put her life in grave danger.

There is hope.

But we need your help.

We have until mid-July to file an appeal. Her lawyer believes that if we can reverse her deportation order, she has a strong case for asylum. But the legal fees are overwhelming.

We need to raise $2,500 to save her future.

Every dollar brings us closer to keeping her safe and giving her the chance she has fought so hard for. Please donate today.
