Help Mohsen Al Qumboz and his family of 23 survive in North Gaza
Update: 25th August 2025
Mohsen and his family are in imminent danger. They are located in the Rimal neighbourhood, north-west Gaza City. The adjacent neighbourhoods of Sabra, Zeitoun and Sheikh Radwan are currently being decimated by occupation forces
At any moment, they could receive an evacuation order to uproot their lives, should the IOF invasion of Gaza City go ahead unchallenged by international powers.
July 2025 Update: Rising costs in Gaza City
Mohsen currently resides in Gaza City, and financially supports his mother and father, Amal & Essam, Brothers Ahmed and Mohammed, Sisters Manar, Ola, Bilsam, Shereen and Wafaa*. Children: Maryam, Aboud & Anas. *Mohsen also sends money to his sister Dalia and children Aya, Siwar, Karim and Kinan in Deir al Balah. While Mohsen of course also supports them, I also run a fundraiser for Mohsen’s sister Hanin and her children Obaida, Talal, Mira and Masa – here.
Since April, our efforts have raised £19,016.67 for Mohsen (including Paypal & remaining funds from JustGiving), but only an estimated £11,200 of this reached Mohsen due to him having to pay at least 40% commission. Including Hanin & family, that’s $6 per person per day. Enough to buy an onion or two – less than 200 calories!
A message from Mohsen (June 2024):
“My name is Mohsen Abu Al-Qumboz, a 24-year-old Palestinian young man from Gaza, from a middle-income family of 23 people (11 children). All I publish is our suffering and misery in the ongoing war in Gaza. I had many goals and ambitions that I wanted to achieve, but all of those goals and ambitions became incomplete.
We lost everything: the warmth of family, being home, our work, our friends, our loved ones, and even our beautiful memories. I will not hide anything from you. I was saving an amount of money, in order to achieve my first goal, which was planned by me and my family, which is marriage. But now, due to the circumstances we are going through, due to the high prices of the scarcely available products, and my attempt to help my family as much as possible, only a small amount of this amount remains, and of course it will end soon. I ask you for this amount to help me complete my life and build my future, and to help my siblings with their livelihood and work.” Mohsen’s Instagram: mohsen_esam3

We are raising funds to assist the Al Qumboz family with the essentials they need to survive—food, medical care, and rebuilding their home which was mostly destroyed during the Gaza Genocide. Your donations directly provide:
– Food and supplies for the entire family – Medical care for the children and elderly members of the family – Funds for transport, in case they are faced with evacuation orders. – Any other emergency needs
Gaza has been under attack from Israeli forces since October 2023, months of relentless bombing, an unprecedented attack on civilian life. Homes, businesses, hospitals, mosques, schools, all societal infrastructure has been intentionally destroyed by the occupation forces. Palestinians desperately need financial support and anything you can donate will help Mohsen and his family survive until a true ceasefire can be reached.
We need your help, our generous and steadfast donors. In the coming days, at any moment really, Mohsen may need to pick up his entire life, his belongings and take his entire family to the south to escape Israeli aggression. The future is completely unpredictable, and your donations will help Mohsen pay for transport and gather enough food and water for the journey.
absolutely anything you can spare at this moment is crucial ❤️
good evening to all our wonderful donors ❤️ since April this year, we have raised £14,000 for Mohsen. of this, he likely only received and was able to spend £8-£9k due to high commission when withdrawing cash in the Gaza Strip. Mohsen and his family need your continued support – anything you can spare as we hope for lower prices in the coming weeks, would help immensely. You can also set up recurring donations, weekly or monthly as suits.
Thank you all so much and Free Palestine ❤️
I spoke with Mohsen today, and asked him how he was doing. He told me about the insane prices at the markets. For everyone to have a pita bread each day, Mohsen needs a 25kg sack of flour. That means spending anywhere from $700 to $1,000 if he’s able to find a sack uncontaminated with too much mold.
A message from Mohsen:
Hi, my friends. I ask you for your support in this time, when prices are high, and I need to feed my family. This war has taken everything from us, and the funds raised on the link so far have helped me and my family survive. Right now, one sack of flour costs $800, if it can be found. The only other items are pasta and lentils, and a teaspoon of sugar is five dollars. The prices are suffocating us. The funds on the link have been spent, surviving the last 70 days in the North, entirely on food and supplies.
Thank you for your continued donations. There is now a feature to select a “recurring donation”, and you can contribute weekly or monthly.
Thank you all and Free Palestine
