We are urgently raising money for Qasim of Gaza.

Qasim is a little visually-impaired boy, 6 years old and he has just had 2 operations to correct his club feet. This was performed in a private clinic in Khan Yunis as the only available place for the surgery.

He is at the moment in extreme pain because there are no strong painkillers available in Gaza to curb the pain because of the siege imposed by the occupation.

His mother cannot afford the cost of the operation or even the painkillers and antibiotics that are available because of the high prices imposed by the siege.

The surgeon deemed it necessary to perform the operation now during the ceasefire. He was scheduled for the operation in October 2023, but this was cancelled because of the occupation war on Gaza.

We seek to raise $500 USD urgently to cover the cost of the operation and recovery and rehabilitation. Please give generously.

Thank you for your support.

Qasim’s was able to see the doctor on Tuesday. His plaster was finally removed 3 weeks late. He had an surgical adjustment in his right foot. Surgeon was happy with progress under the circumstances. However, his mother cannot afford to take him to physiotherapy because of the cost of travel by cart. And she simply cannot carry him there twice a week because of her health issues. There is very little food and water. Please support this desperate family.

The latest is that the family of 4 children their mother, has had to flee their camp in Abasan al Kabira as israel has resumed its genocidal campaign against Palestinians in Gaza. They only received a few minutes notice to leave before the occupation resumed its bombing campaign. They could not pack up their tent and all their stuff and just took what they could carry as they did not have enough time and could not afford a cart. I’ve only had a few brief text messages since Wednesday. But they are so far all ok. Please pray for their safety and the safety of all in Gaza and Palestine. Please donate and share widely.

Thank you.

David

Qasim was discharged from hospital after 10 days and his mother had to carry him back to their tent. The clinic had no wheelchairs as everything was destroyed by the occupation. With plaster casts, he was very heavy for her, as his mother has 2 herniated discs in her lumbar spine and suffers sciatica. So the process of carrying him home takes some time. He must return to the clinic every 2 weeks for review. He will also need physiotherapy for several months until he can walk correctly.

We have a need to raise enough money for a wheelchair. There are some available, but they are very expensive. We must pressure politicians to sanction israel until it complies with its obligations under international law.
