This family’s campaign has been verified by Project Watermelon. My name is Miyuki, I am a mother living in Utah in the United States. I’ve been in contact with my friend Moatasem Billah Al-Batarikh for over a year now. He is a 29-year-old Palestinian psychologist, father, and husband, who has currently been displaced and trapped near Khan Younis after his home was bombed by Israel and after being displaced multiple times. He has miraculously survived so far, and is currently hoping to go back to his destroyed neighborhood while there is a ceasefire, but his family still lives in constant danger from lack of food and clean water, lack of safe shelter, and lack of community support as everyone displaced in Gaza is greatly suffering. There is absolutely no guaranteed safety, and he has no means to escape.

Moatasem and his wife Dalal Al-Khatib gave birth to their beautiful baby girl Nawal the day before this genocide started, and the tent they have been forced to live in due to displacement is old and tattered, and cannot keep their family warm. Items like clean bottled water, food, baby formula, warm clothing, and tents for shelter are very scarce, and if found, nearly impossible to purchase with skyrocketing prices and no work available for an income.

Moatasem has graciously shared his story with me, so I want to share it with those I can reach and to those who can financially help him more than I could do alone. Any amount big or small would be helpful for Moatasem and his family’s survival. For those of us who are safe and comfortable in our homes, the least we can do is support Moatasem and many, many Palestinians in need of basic necessities.

Your contribution will directly aid Moatasem in obtaining essential provisions as he continues to fight to survive and keep his family alive, and to eventually rebuild their home and lives. I ask for your compassion and solidarity in assisting Moatasem and his family fight for survival. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
