Greetings, generous donors. My name is V from Seattle, Washington, USA, and I am lucky to call Fedaa Sami a friend. While working on a tent fundraising campaign for another Palestinian family, I was introduced to Fedaa through mutual friends. Fedaa is a very sweet, kind and smart Palestinian woman, but her story is a sad one to tell.
Before October 7th of 2023, Fedaa and her large family lived in North Gaza, where her father worked as a car dealer to provide for his family. With 6 brothers and 3 sisters, Fedaa is also a proud aunt to many nieces. After the invasion, Fedaa, her mother, nieces, and some of her siblings were displaced to Deir al-Balah, separating them from her father and several siblings, who are in Northern Gaza. She misses her father dearly.
During the past 16 months, Fedaa has endured the hardest days of her life. Battling starvation, constant bombardment with bombs, drones, and massacres, Fedaa also recently injured her hand while running away from bombs.The constant stress of surviving a genocide has also taken a toll on Fedaa’s mental health.
Sadly, Fedaa was also betrayed more than once during this time. She has had 2 Go Fund Me sponsors scam her money, the most recent one leading to a nervous breakdown. By this time, Fedaa should have over $2000 USD, but because of dishonest people, Fedaa is left with nothing to restart her life after the ceasefire. As an attempt to foster trust, I am happy to give my email address which is [email protected], to provide receipts for money transferred to Fedaa. I work with a dedicated group of Fedaa and 2 women, one from the US and one from New Zealand, to make sure Fedaa receives her money through international bank transfers. I am also happy to give their email addresses to ensure donors that we know Fedaa’s trust has come with a heavy price in the past, and we are happy to share receipts to ensure there is never dishonesty for Fedaa ever again with her campaign.
The goal for this campaign is $20,000 to help Fedaa cover the price of food, which is greatly inflated due to the blockade, medicine as she recovers from a hand surgery, and daily necessities such as water, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and basically everything that makes life sustainable. There has been no income for Fedaa’s family for 16 months now. With a ceasefire near, Fedaa is excited to return to Northern Gaza to find her father, and hug him. It will be very expensive to travel from Central Gaza to Northern Gaza, and this money will help fund that, as well.
Please give even $5-$10, or however much you can spare to help Fedaa start her life again after the genocide. No amount is too small, and we hope that whatever you give with a generous heart, the kindness is returned to you threefold.
