Help Mai Support Her Family, The Gazan Children, & More

I am raising funds on behalf of my friend Mai Ayman Zourob, who launched an initiative to support the children in her displacement camp in Gaza.

The primary goal of this campaign is to help Mai care for her family of seven, with her aim of starting a business to provide for them, and then support the children in the displacement camp or street animals. These children range from the ages of 1 to 10 years old and they are living through a nightmare of ongoing aggression, pollution, illness, and a deepening man-made famine.

With each passing day, despite a ceasefire agreement, survival becomes harder as prices for basic necessities like food, clothing, hygiene items, passports, and weather-appropriate supplies continue to rise; a single pocket of flour costs $200. The funds raised will primarily ensure Mai’s family has the essential aid they need to survive (by allowing her to start a business and provide for them), passports in the event that they can cross the border, and help her provide these children with warmth, education, and activities whenever possible, to help them continue to thrive in a loving, nurturing environment – despite the daily violence they face.

Mai’s initiative, which she started at just 22 years old, is a testament to her strength, compassion, and determination. I am hoping to raise donations that will not only allow her to continue providing for the children whenever possible, but also give her the support she needs directly and immediately for her family, as she is dedicating all her time to provide for them and those in need around her.

She is a kind and beautiful soul, and I believe that this fundraiser will make a difference in the lives of everyone she touches.

Hello everyone and thank you for continuing to support this fundraiser!

A lot has happened in the last two months that had me occupied both mentally and physically, but this is a long overdue update. I hope to be more consistent from now on with whichever news I receive from Mai and hope that you all continue to support this campaign, as well as donate and share it with your comrades.

That being said, I will be compiling different updates from the months of May-June to organize everything that has happened that those of you not in our group messaging may not know about and hope that all of you take the time to read each one.

Until then, please enjoy this new art made recently for the Gaza Camp Kids, with help from one of our comrades in the chat to link it!

Hello all!

As you may already know from the recent posts on @gaza_campkids (Instagram), although the current fundraiser shows that we are almost at $2k, the reality is that much of the generous donations you all have sent to Mai to help her and her family survive have been used for everyday needs and basic aid – the current total is only less than $300.

However, the aid in Gaza has stopped completely as of recent weeks and although Mai and her family were relying on the remaining food supplies in the market, there is a severely great shortage of food anywhere in the markets, along with other basic necessities such as clean drinking water and medicine; prices are extremely expensive once again, but everything is in a severe shortage. Just recently, the children with Mai were forced to eat grass due to hunger and since then, the continued starvation tactics against her, her family, and every Palestinian have not ceased- almost 57 deaths have been recorded due to starvation, as a result of the blockade on food and water; they are being exterminated through hunger, as well as through violent attacks from bombs.

It is truly devastating that our friend Mai has to deal with such atrocious circumstances, but now she also has to go through the same pain she h
