Hello – I’m Carrie Leung and I reside in the United States. I’m running this campaign on behalf of Mahmoud Ziad Saidam and his family including his wife Raneen Abdullah Radi, 5 year old daughter Sozan, and Mahmoud’s mother, brother and sister. This family has been vetted and verified by me.

In Mahmoud’s own words:

I am Mahmoud Ziad Saidam. I am 34 years old and I live in southern Gaza in an area called Nuseirat. I was displaced from my place of residence several times since the 7th of October, and after the Rafah operation, I returned to my home with my children, my wife, and my family. The house was bombed without warning above our heads on the 7/24//2024 My 3-year-old younger child, Ziad Mahmoud Saidam, was killed immediately, and I have been forced to live in a tent since that time because the house was uninhabitable after it was bombed by aircraft.

In my conversations with Mahmoud, he also told me his father was in Egypt before the g”nocide and so he is also currently supporting his mother, sister, and brother. He has had no source of income and has had no fundraising campaign prior to this.

Funds raised will be used for

1. Food for the family, estimated to be about $200 per week

2. To buy winter clothes, particulary for his daughter. The adults also need winter clothes. For the daughter alone, this would cost $150.

Mahmoud still has hopes that one day when this ends, he can go back to rebuild his house and provide a decent life for his family.

To those who donate, share, pray, comment, THIS FAMILY THANKS YOU! Please! Help me help others.

Sorry I haven’t done any updates for the Saidam family!!

Mahmoud and his wife actually got pregnant during the “ceasefire” in January and they are about to start their eighth month. One more month until baby comes! Formula is back in the markets but prices are still high, diaper prices are still very high. We’re hoping prices will drop in a month. During the four months when no aid was allowed in, Mahmoud searched high and low to get flour and vegetables for his pregnant wife. She had to go to the hospital once because she was so malnourished and she has very low blood pressure.

Susan turned 6 recently and Mahmoud moved heaven and earth to get her a party. She got a little toy for her birthday. Susan also started 1st grade.

Mahmoid was believing milk with Gaza little lights for a little bit during the ceasefire but as the complete blockade went into effect he could no longer find milk and had to stop. Hopefully that can start back up again as milk comes in.

If you can please donate to support this dangly. Pregnant mom needs to buy healthy food. She is so thin. Susan is a 6! year old who’s spent her last two years in a genocide, Consider donating to her so that she can buy healthy food to nourish her body. And Mahmoud, he’s worked so hard to ensure his family (not just Susan and his wife but his mom and sibling too) is ted. Please give what you can – no amount too small!

Hi friends – thank you so much for supporting the Saidam family. Today a ceasefire was finally announced, but it will not take effect until Sunday. Like most Gazans, Mahmoud and his family are hoping to survive until Sunday. He shared videos of the shelling from where they are at the last few days and it is terrifying. Please send positive thoughts to the Saidam family and all of Gaza.

As for the future, a lot appears to be unknown. In our earlier conversations, Mahmoud had expressed a desire to rebuild his house. He actually still needs to pay off the loan for the house even though it is no longer habitable. I may send out updates when there are more solid plans and as you have all been doing so wonderfully, please support if you can.

Lastly I will leave you with two pictures of little Sozan. Children are resilient and we hope she can still have a childhood with the correct support. And as with all of Gaza, the Saidam family will need time to grieve because they did endure the loss of a child and our continued support.
