Since this campaign was originally created with the story below there have been major changes in Walid’s life:

He has since been displaced after having to leave his home and on July 13, the location he was staying at was also bombed. He has now lost both homes he was staying at and is now houseless on the street with his wife and daughters.

He has been volunteering in a soup kitchen in the community his family was disaplaced. He and I are working to fundraise money to continue that soup kitchen going…

Original story:Please read this as if Walid is one of the people who means a lot to you. Perhaps your brother, your friend, or your son is the one who is being killed now. Walid, a lawyer from Gaza, lost the Ahlam house that he and his wife Israa built. He also lost his law office. “He paid for it with everything he had. He sold his own car to buy it.” They have their two daughters. *The beautiful girls Iman (7 years old) and Waten (3 years old).

Now the whole family lives in a tent that does not protect them from war or the cold! “Gaza is our soul and our beloved homeland, but we cannot survive anymore. We deserve to live. Our children deserve to live.”

I was destined to have a successful career and realize my dreams, but I found myself losing the city I lived in and any hope for a better future for it. After years of work, during which I worked hard for my daughters Iman and Waten, I saw the world in them. I did not withhold anything from them, but rather I saw the world through them.

The war had another idea. Iman and her sister wateen to play, sing and have fun like any other child in this world. My children have become like vagrants, they have no clothes, no money, and no shelter. We don’t sleep because of bombs. We may be the next target of this war, but we want to live. No, I don’t want to lose my little children.

Since the war on Gaza began, Walid has lost almost everything. On October 18 last year, just two weeks after the war began, 30 family members and friends were lost in one second, by a single missile. None of them survived, and everyone was under the rubble.

Please let us help him raise money for his family to have a better life and resume building their future. Walid will use the funds raised to evacuate his children from Gaza, search for a better opportunity and build a better future for them outside the war zone.

When the occupation army wanted to blow up the residential building in which we lived, some shrapnel were scattered. On the body of my wife Israa, who is still suffering from it, as she no longer walks with balance. As for my daughter, Iman, she was injured in the head, and her hair, which she loved, was shaved off so that the doctor could sew up her head, which was bleeding.

She cried a lot at that time, and her eyes were painful and swollen from the injury. The heart was crying for her, not the eyes. The house was bombed. Not only the house, but the entire residential building was blown up. We are now homeless, and we are all suffering from pain and sadness. But the grief now is not limited to our home only, but rather to the loss of not one person. 30 people were killed in the same second. My life was destroyed in a worse way when the law office I wanted to move to was bombed due to the house being bombed. I was left without a job, without a home, without an office, Without extended family. I fear that I will lose my daughters at any moment, like other families.

I made it a mission to save myself and my family that I don’t want to lose. I can’t imagine my life without them. Hunger ate their bodies. The rash ravaged the body of my little daughter, who began to suffer from involuntary urination out of fear. She spoke to herself after she had been the most beautiful child. I want my children to survive, I want to save their future from all this and start again in a safe place, and before I lose another one of my family, I want all of your help so that I can start again, I don’t want them to be killed by hunger. We are fleeing from missile bombardment, but hunger is chasing us. We no longer eat so our children can eat.

I have to save my family’s life and future. May your help become our hope when hope eludes us under these circumstances. Every dollar that can help can save a life, bring hope to a tired heart and save a young person’s future. Please don’t read this as a story. Tragic, I’m here to ask you to prevent her from experiencing any more tragedies and help us start our lives over. I am here to ask for your help not your sympathy, to ask you to take action whether by donating or sharing this with everyone you know who can help, please read this with your heart and take action as if they were your family, Iman, Israa, and Waten, your brothers living in these circumstances.

Thank you

Walid’s youngest daughter is turning 5 on July 22! We wanted to celebrate and see if Walid could borrow money to buy Wateen what she asked for–grapes. Grapes are incredibly expensive. There is still a blockade that has gotten even worse.

Walid rarely receives donations because he is not tech savvy and cannot post on social media often. He’s only gotten only $25 in the last month or so.

Can we try to see if we can help Walid and his family celebrate his daughter’s birthday?

Thank you!

Anna

Hello friends,

I just received a message from Walid that his house was bombed, the place he was temporarily staying at was bombed, and he’s now homeless. He has 2 daughters and a wife and they will now be sleeping on the streets because tents cost over $1,000 and he barely receives any donations. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you,

Anna

Good afternoon,

Walid has been receiving very few donations. I am grateful for the amazing friends in my life who fundraise for my families. My spouse and I sent extra money as well to purchase food for the soup kitchen as well. Walid’s campaign is close to my heart because he shares what is donated to him to feed those who do not have the ability to create campaigns. He is selfless. Even within his own starvation, he chooses to feed his community. Please don’t forget about his campaign and share on your social media. The starvation is getting worse and there is no end in sight.
