Hello I’m Lara Bawab.

After 16 months of war and forced displacement, me and my family have returned to what remains of their home in Northern Gaza. Everything around us is in ruins. The conflict is ongoing, humanitarian aid is blocked, and the costs for basic necessities have skyrocketed beyond reach. With no electricity and scarce resources, every day is a struggle—even for simple food and water.

Before the war, we lived a stable life. In an instant, everything changed. Our home was severely damaged, our livelihood vanished, and we were forced to flee again and again. Now, We are focused on rebuilding—not just out house, but our lives.

We are a family of six members . I am the oldest daughter , I will tell you what happened to us. I couldn’t complete my high school studies because of the damned war , I was hoping to get a high score to study dentistry at university, but everything I dreamed of was destroyed.

My father became unemployed due to the destruction of the sewing factory where he worked and he struggles to provide basic necessaries like food, water and medical care for my mother…

I have a sister and two brothers who were unable to complete their basic education, which is their most basic right , their childhood became about filling and transporting water , their childhood was completely destroyed.

They are afraid of any loud noise, or any sudden event , At night, my sister Lamar panics when she hears any sound and cannot sleep , What sin did my sister commit for this to happen to her?

My little brother Muhammad talks every day war, bombing, and martyrs. Is there anyone who can bear to have a childhood like this, full of fear and panic? Finally, I want to talk about my mother’s illness , throughout the war, she did not receive treatment due to its unavailability, and she was unable to travel abroad for treatment because of the siege we are living and still living.

My mother has Churg-Strauss syndrome, which is an autoimmune disease . Symptoms include asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, vasculitis, and joint and bone inflammation. Our current living conditions are un safe!!

How your support will help:

Our challenges are immense, but together, you can be the reason my loving and resilient family finds stability again. Every dollar makes a difference. Thank you for standing with me and my family.

Hi everyone, so due to changing political circumstances in the US, I’m likely going to be going lower profile. We have a friend of the Bawab family in CAN who is going to be helping out with this campaign. I’ll be sending money through them this round – they are also running a campaign for Lara’s mother (linked below). The family is now back in the north, their home is in ruins.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone for donating.

Wow, everyone, thank you. I am speechless. This last set of donations totaled up to $700 and we still have even more donations coming in. Thank you, thank you so much. The money was sent to the family a f
