Brief Story
Fatima Alizada was born and raised in Afghanistan, where she spent her early years in a small village. Like many women of her generation, her opportunities were limited, but she dreamed of a peaceful life for herself and her family. However, the escalating violence and conflict in Afghanistan forced her to flee with her family in 1999, seeking refuge in Pakistan.
After years of uncertainty in Pakistan, Fatima and her children had to move again, arriving in Indonesia in 2015. Now, living as refugees for nearly a decade, they continue to face struggles. One of her daughters suffers from a broken hand, further complicating their difficult situation.
Their Journey
With no safe or legal options available, Fatima and her children had to rely on smugglers to escape. She and her children flew to New Delhi, India. From there, they went to Malaysia by plane and then on to Indonesia in 2015.
