I am Farid, a father trying to keep my family safe and alive in the face of unimaginable hardship. Our lives have been turned upside down by this war. We were forced from our home in Khan Younis and have been displaced multiple times. Our house was partially destroyed, and now we’re taking refuge in a relative’s home, where every day is a struggle to meet even the most basic needs.
I have four children—ages 8, 5, 3, and 10 months—and they are my whole world. But right now, I’m struggling to provide even the essentials they need to survive. We don’t have enough food, clean water, clothing, or shelter to protect them from the cold. My youngest, only 10 months old, needs milk and extra care that I am struggling to give.
