I am Ahmed from occupied Palestine, Gaza Strip, I am 24 years old, I stand before you as a person trying to support my family of 11. We are trying to live in miserable conditions in tents in Mawasi Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

It is difficult for me to find words to describe what we face every day in Gaza after the bombing and injuries that my family and I were exposed to, where my father lost his health and my mother lost her ability to move because of the Israeli occupation bombing of our house while we were inside it, where we miraculously survived this bombing and this bombing turned our lives upside down.

Now there is nothing to live on and survive from, there is no food, no medicine, no clean drinking water, oppression, disability, psychological pressures, doubts and daily shocks due to losing everything, in Gaza it is not only hunger, disease and fear, it means actual death. I studied physical education and sports and worked in school as a teacher for children. I was preparing to study for a master’s degree to help myself and my family in recent years. But because of the destruction we lost everything, the university, the school, the children and the house were destroyed, and there were no signs of life to survive in Gaza. Now I find myself in this difficult situation and I humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family and especially the wounded by getting us out of Gaza.

The situation in Gaza has become unbearable due to the slow death resulting from injury, hunger, thirst, homelessness, the spread of diseases and the continuous bombing. Since October 7, due to the continuous bombing of Gaza, we have been displaced from our homes in Khan Younis. My family has been displaced three times. Currently, we live in a tent in Khan Younis with my brothers, my father, my mother and my wounded nephews, and unfortunately in very poor humanitarian conditions.

There is a shortage of food, water and toilets, and the weather is difficult to live in a thin plastic tent. We have not had the minimum necessities of life in the past months, it has been full of hell and horror. This war has been going on for a long time, and our mental health and our lives are in constant danger. We have reached a stage where there is no longer any hope in Gaza, as if we are waiting for death. Even if a ceasefire is reached, the destruction in Gaza in all its forms cannot be repaired quickly. To cross the Gaza-Egypt border at Rafah, our names must be on the crossing list (paid permit). The coordinators who are authorized to add my family’s names to the list at the border, are asking us for between $7,000 and $8,000 per person! They won’t add the names until we can prove that we have the money ready. Unfortunately, our house was completely destroyed and during a short truce. I was able to record a video of it. It saddens me to see my house destroyed, and I have lost hope that my family will not be able to sleep in their home. The occupation has destroyed 3 of my family’s homes.

Please help me get them out. I hope that my family and I can get out to safety outside the Gaza Strip and that my family can be treated and provided with medical care. Your help will go a long way in alleviating our suffering. I hope that you will share my story with your family and friends. I will be eternally grateful for your generous assistance at this difficult time.
