Dear kind and supportive friends,
My name is Suliman Al-Ashqar. I am a fourth-year bachelor’s student at the Faculty of Administrative and Economic Sciences at Al-Quds Open University. In the midst of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, our home was completely destroyed, and 26 members of my family were martyred. As a result of this aggression, we were forced to flee to the southern Gaza Strip, and we are currently suffering from difficult living conditions. My family, consisting of six members, and I live in a small room under construction without a door or windows.
My father, Khaled Al-Ashqar, suffers from muscular dystrophy, and his health condition is deteriorating. He currently relies on a ventilator that delivers oxygen to him through a hole and tube in his neck. He experiences difficulty in walking and breathing and is a person with special needs in need of precise and continuous medical treatment, including regular physiotherapy. He also requires constant electricity to operate his respiratory device. However, due to this war, there is no electricity, hospitals are out of service, and providing medical services in hospitals has become difficult. My father needs to leave the Gaza Strip for treatment abroad, but traveling from the Gaza Strip is extremely difficult and costly, as the travel cost per person is $5000.
Currently, my father’s life is at risk due to the shortage of medical capabilities in hospitals in the Gaza Strip and the poor health environment in Gaza. In the pictures shared, you will find my father’s medical report, his ventilator to help him breathe, and a picture of our house in the north of Gaza, where we lost 27 members of our family.
All I wish for now is my entire family of 6 to escape the circle of continue danger and fear, and to continue my father’s treatment and the education of my younger siblings, who have been deprived of education under the current circumstances.
I reach out with humility to all compassionate souls around the world and request their support in saving the lives of my father and my beloved family. I wish to raise 25,000 euros to facilitate the departure of my father and my family abroad.
The money will be transferred to a trusted friend, who will send the money to Egypt through Western Union money transfer service to pay Hala Consulting and Tourism Services Company. Hala Company is responsible for conducting examinations and facilitating travel from Gaza. We sincerely appreciate your time in considering our story.
