My name is Victoria and I am raising money for my friend Feras’s extended family.

His uncle was killed during the late summer 2024 in Gaza. He left behind his wife and children, including a newborn son he never got to meet.

The family is in need of monetary support urgently; resources are sparse and everything is extremely expensive in Gaza right now.

All funds will be transferred to Feras to provide food, water, hygiene products, and medications for his uncle’s surviving family.

Please give what you can.

Here are Feras’s own words:

My uncle Yousef’s, a simple farmer in Gaza, lived his entire life surrounded by big dreams. His greatest wish was to have a son who would help him protect his land and assist in caring for his family. Despite the effort he invested over the years, he managed to build a home for his family, believing that this house would be their refuge from all of life’s difficulties. But with the onset of the war in Gaza on October 7th, Yusuf’s dreams turned into nightmares. The occupation destroyed everything he had built over a lifetime, bombing his land and house, turning what was once a safe haven into rubble and devastation. Yusuf lost everything, and instead of the security he sought for his family, he faced a harsh reality. As the war broke out, Yusuf fled to the south, living in a temporary tent, moving from place to place in a desperate attempt to find safety for his family. When rumors spread that the occupation had allowed people to return, Yusuf was among the first to head back, hoping to reclaim a semblance of hope. Unfortunately, the rumors were not true. Yusuf was killed by the occupation, and his body remains unidentified to this day. In this great tragedy, his children are left orphaned and unsupported. Yusuf left behind nine daughters and a son, all struggling with the loss of their father under inhumane conditions and the weight of war and death. His eldest daughter, Sarah, 32 years old, shared her father’s dream. She supported her small family, which includes two daughters and a son. Her eldest daughter, Hala, is 12 years old, her younger daughter is 10 years old, and her son is 6 years old. Sarah lost her husband in a drowning accident while he was trying to migrate to Greece. This tragedy adds to the series of misfortunes facing the family. The second daughter, Leila, who is 29 years old and has special needs, faces a difficult life with compounded challenges. The twins, Ahlam and Dalal, who are 27 years old, are also struggling. Dalal, who is pregnant and due to give birth soon, has three daughters. Meanwhile, Samia, 26 years old, who had three children and a daughter, was martyred in Gaza. Her husband stayed near his daughter’s grave and the rubble of what was once their home until he too was lost. The other twins, Aziza and Shaima, both 20 years old, suffer from the loss of their father amid life’s difficulties. Meanwhile, Ghazal, 20 years old, and Afnan, 19 years old with special needs, endure severe living conditions. Amidst these hardships, the son Talal, who is 15 years old, is the only one left to face life’s challenges. However, as a young boy, he lacks the capacity to shoulder such immense family responsibilities during such overwhelming suffering. The war has taken everything: hope, security, and the future. Under the current circumstances, everyone is experiencing a severe shortage of basic necessities like food and water, and they are overwhelmed by daily struggles that have surpassed their ability to endure. Consequently, the family has decided to create a campaign on GoFundMe to raise funds in hopes of securing life’s essentials. They are in desperate need of your help to provide food and water, to alleviate their suffering and meet the basic human needs. “We will never forget how we lost everything, but we hope to find a glimmer of hope through your support. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference in our lives. We are in urgent need of your support, as every effort and contribution is a step towards rebuilding our lives and filling the void left by our father’s passing. Thank you to everyone standing by us in this difficult time.” Yusuf’s family is enduring a severe struggle to survive in a world that has taken everything from them, and sadly, they are left without the father who was the pillar of their family.
