Help Mohammad’s Family in Gaza

This campaign was created on behalf of my friend Khaled, a Palestinian Organiser working tirelessly to help newcomers from Gaza settle in Egypt. As he does this, his family is trying to survive in Gaza as it gets indiscriminately bombed and starved by ‘Israel.’ Khaled would like to urgently register and evacuate his uncle Mohammad’s family, most of whom are children, so they can no longer witness the carnage up close and begin rebuilding their lives again. The psychological effects of this genocide, especially for the children, are monumental as they grapple with what they’ve lost, including their loved ones, belongings, and homes. We are asking the community to help raise the funds needed to evacuate this family as soon as possible.

Below is a direct statement from the family:

إلى أصحاب القلوب الرحيمة والطيبة، هذا بيتنا الذى جلسنا ندخر الأموال ١٥ عام حتى يتم بناؤه، للأسف تم تدميره كلياً بسبب الحرب وتدمرت أمانينا وذكرياتنا وأحلامنا معه، كانت لدينا حياة جميلة والأن فقدناها كما فقدنا أيضاً مشروعنا الذى يعتبر مصدر دخلنا الأساسى كما فقدنا عشرات الاقارب والأصدقاء، أنا أحب الحياة والهدوء وكافحت لسنوات طويلة حتى أصل للوضع الذى كنت عليه قبل بدء الحرب، لكن للأسف الحرب كان لها رأياً أخر،نحن عائلة مكونة من ٧ أشخاص منهم خمس أطفال يعانون الأن من وضع صحى ونفسى سئ وأطمح أن أغادر البلاد لكى أعالج أطفالى من أثار الحرب الصعبة على حياتهم وأن أبدأ الحياة من جديد وبقلوب مثقلة بالأسى والحزن نطلب منكم مساعدتنا قدر إستطاعتكم ونعتبر أن كل تبرع سيوفر شريان حياة لأسرتنا حتى نتمكن من بناء الأمل فى حياة افضل من جديد، نشكركم على قراءة رسالتنا ونثق فى كرمكم ونؤمن أيضاً أن الرحمة محفورة فى قلوبكم، وخالص التقدير لكل من قرأ المناشدة ولكل من ساهم فى مساعدتنا.

Translation:

To those with compassionate and kind hearts, this is our house in which we sat saving money for 15 years until it was built. Unfortunately, it was completely destroyed due to the war, and our hopes, memories and dreams were destroyed along with it. We had a beautiful life and now we have lost it. We have also lost our project, which is our primary source of income. We have also lost dozens of relatives and friends. I love life and tranquility, and I struggled for many years to reach the situation I was in before the war began, but unfortunately the war had a different opinion. We are a family of 7 people, including five children, who are now suffering from a bad health and psychological condition. I aspire to leave the country in order to treat my children from The effects of the difficult war on their lives and to start life again. With hearts heavy with grief and sadness, we ask you to help us as much as you can. We consider that every donation will provide a lifeline to our family so that we can build hope for a better life again. Here is a breakdown of the costs:

SUSTENANCE –

Basic necessities- food, accomodation etc.= $2,500USD

EVACUATION –

1x ADULT (5k each)

2x CHILDREN (2.5k each)

TOTAL – $5,000 + $5,000 = $10,000USD

BANK TRANSFER/TRAVEL/UNFORESEEABLE FEES –

CURRENCY EXCHANGE FROM AUD TO USD + BANK PROCESSING FEES

TOTAL – Roughly $500 (any extra money raised will go towards other travel expenses)

(TOTAL = 13,000USD which is roughly $18,700 AUD)
