Baan Unrak – Helping out in the rainy season
Australia
Dear Wilai Foundation ,
(Click “Read More” at the bottom to hear how the first $2,354 that you generously donated was spent!)
We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt and urgent request for support in a time of desperate need.
Through your generosity, The Wilai Foundation Ltd. offers ongoing support to Baan Unrak and the many orphaned and stateless children living there through fundraising and educational scholarships.
Baan Unrak, translated from Thai as “House of Joy,” is a children’s home and community development project in Sangkhlaburi, Thailand. It provides a loving home, food, medical care, and education to over 130 abandoned children from Thailand and Myanmar, including the neighbouring Mon and Karen States.

Baan Unrak not only provides shelter and support for both vulnerable children and single mothers but also aids refugees fleeing the civil war in Myanmar through their outreach and relief programs.
The situation is critical.
The violence and conflict in Myanmar have forced thousands more innocent civilians to flee their homes, seeking refuge in the forest along the Thai border near Baan Unrak.
As people flee their homes, children are being separated from their parents, and children are facing unimaginable hardships in the forest near Baan Unrak.
With the approaching rainy season, the need for supplies has become even more pressing. The refugees have built their shelters from simple materials, such as plastic sheeting, to shield them from the rain, the supply of which is now crucial.
In the face of severe poverty and limited opportunities along the Thai-Myanmar border, Baan Unrak responds with monthly aid expeditions, delivering essential supplies to refugee villages. Unfortunately, this is still not enough.
As members of the Wilai Foundation prepare to visit Baan Unrak in April, we are seeking your support in purchasing essential supplies and delivering them directly to Baan Unrak.
You can be a lifeline for families fleeing conflict, offering them hope, support, and the chance to rebuild their lives by purchasing a relief pack.
Family Relief Pack: 2500 TBH ($100AUD)
Each pack includes the essentials they need to survive:
• plastic rooftop • pots for cooking • buckets for water and showers • mosquito nets • plates and cutlery • mats • blankets • medicines
Essentials Food Pack 1,200 THB ($50 AUD)
The regular pack includes the following supplies:
• 15 kg of rice • cooking oil • soy sauce • noodles • salt
Please join us in supporting Baan Unrak to assist the people of Myanmar during this challenging time. Your generosity and compassion can make a direct and immediate difference in the lives of those affected by this crisis.
With gratitude for your ongoing support,
The team at the Wilai Foundation
