Hello, I am Hamed Busandeh, a 38 year-old refugee. For 38 years I have been a refugee as my parents were refugees in Iraq where Sadam Hussein exiled all Kurdish families to Iran. In Iran, my family were also refugees and unable to work, drive, go to high school, or legally marry. In 2015 I left Iran to come to Indonesia where I thought I would have a better chance. In Indonesia refugees have the same restrictions as in Iran leaving my life without any clear direction or hope.
If I raise $16,500 I will be able to legally immigrate to Canada and work toward citizenship (for the first time in my life). I long to be a citizen of a free country where I will be able to legally pursue my dreams and goals. I play guitar and want to teach music. I love my dog, whom I rescued here, and dream of working with rescued pets. Finally, I long to know the freedom of religion where I can live out my Christian faith without any fear.
Thank you for considering funding my immigration. In Indonesia I cannot work so it is impossible for me to save money. Once I immigrate I plan to work, to save, and to help others, my family in Iran first and then other refugees who need support.
