HOME FOR A UKRAINIAN FAMILY IN NW5

For the last three months we have been working to find local accommodation for a Ukrainian family. A resident who lives in our block and has family connections to Ukraine, heard of a family from Kharkiv wanting to come over and another made the wonderfully generous offer to host them for six months while she is working abroad. Together they negotiated the long and complex procedure to obtain visas and registered the offer with Homes for Ukraine.
A. and her daughters arrived in London on 4 June and as a group of neighbours we have committed to supporting them during their stay. While our neighbour has waived the rent for her flat, we have pledged to raise funds to cover utility bills, service charges, and any additional expenses for our guests’ immediate and ongoing needs. We are aiming to raise a minimum of £5,000 and have opened a dedicated account to raise funds for this purpose. Please give as generously as you can, and do tell anyone who may be interested in contributing.
Any money raised above and beyond our target will be donated to Hope for the Young, who provide financial support and advocacy to young refugees to help them access education in the UK: https://hopefortheyoung.org.uk/
