Aleah and her young family finally got a fresh start after five years stranded in Nauru, when they arrived in the United States under the controversial US-Australia refugee deal in 2018.

The family was just starting to get back on their feet when COVID hit last year, and Zamir lost his job and was unemployed for many months.

Aleah suffers from painful arm injuries that have been left untreated for years, and have been exacerbated by the lack of medical attention on Nauru and access to healthcare in the USA. Now, Aleah finally has access to life-changing surgery to regain full mobility of both her arms.

As Aleah is the full-time carer for her two young children, it’s been very challenging to find the time out of childcare to take this operation. Fortunately, the essential operation is covered by US medical insurance, however the family cannot afford for Zamir to stop working to help care for their children.

The Ads-Up Refugee Network has a goal to raise enough money to cover 3 months of child care, Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm, to allow Aleah to have the operation and recover.

Help give this family the head start they deserve by donating today.

Donations processed in USD. Donations will be held in the Ads-Up Refugee Network’s charity account and disbursed directly to pay for childcare costs.
