Pandemic Kindness – Support for South-Sudanese Refugees

Last year I worked with MSF in Lankien, South Sudan. It was incredible however challenging to withness the extreme poverty, famine and violence.

Mortality rates (without COVID19) of our hospital were 10% and just last week the hospital saw 68 gunshot wounded patients in 12 hours. In Lankien, there is no electricity, running water, schooling or internet and despite World Food Program air-drops, there is a yearly hunger-gap where hundreds die.

There are currently 4.3 million South Sudanese people displaced globally. Over half are children and most are in refugee camps in neighboruing countries. COVID19 in these camps will be a disaster and the resettlment of refugees has completely stopped.

Please consider donating to support the future lives of South Sudanese orphans who are living in Karkuma refugee camp in Kenya.

Though I support the work of the big organisations like MSF who will be managing the COVID19 crisis, I want to give direct support to my amazing friend and colleague Andrew Lang. He pays for the care and schooling of South Sudanese children who are orphaned by war.

Andrew brought a laugh to our work every single day and is the most resilient person I know. He grew up in the civil war and was taken as a child soldier before he escaped to a refugee camp in Ethiopia where he received schooling. He has worked tirelessly for MSF the last six years and uses his income to support orphaned children reaching safety and receiving schooling in Karkuma, Kenya.

The need is greater than what Andrew can afford and with more money he can support the education of more children.

I really appreciate your support, especially in such a difficult time for. Apologies this is a heart-project and not a registered charity for tax purposes.
