Good Food for Refugees

There are so many needs here that it seems overwhelming to narrow it down. But I want to focus on the most basic- Food. Access to decent, nutricious, good food is desperately lacking in the refugee camps and squats.
At the camp I teach at children come to school with their breakfast in hand: a plastic packaged donut (often semi frozen) or croissant and a box of sugary juice. At recess we give each one a banana. Often this is the only fruit they will eat that day. They love their bananas and it’s a great incentive to come to class! The weekly cost of bananas for around 80 children is €90. I’d love to cover the costs for one month!
Separately, in Athens there are many refugees living in very poor squats. The squat with single men is often neglected when it comes to charitable donations. On Christmas eve day we will aim to deliver 100 healthy and delicious falafel sandwiches and bottled water from our partner “Enjoy Just Falafel”. This should be able to feed all of the residents. And the visit and attention will be greatly appreciated.
