Save Majed And His Family From War In Gaza

Hi, my name is Mandy from California and I’m creating this campaign to raise money for Majed and his family to pay for food and shelter and hopefully rebuild their lives after the genocide inflicted upon them and the people of Gaza.

Hello, I am Majed from Gaza, I am 19 years old. Our house was destroyed in the war due to the bombing, as you can see in the picture. Now the war is about to end, but we do not find a shelter to go to except a tent to protect us from the severe cold. I created this account so that I can collect even a small amount of money to rebuild our house or try to build a small house to protect us from the cold and winter. I hope that you will help me, even with a small amount, so that I and my family can live in a good shelter. Together we can achieve the goal as soon as possible. To be transparent, Majed previously had a campaign on another platform but the organizer started facing obstacles with their wire transfers. He’s asked me to continue organizing for him. I have started the initial target at 10k and will increase it as needed.

The IOF has been giving evacuation orders and kettling everyone into a narrow strip along the ocean. And the blockade continues while minimal aid is being handed out in a disorganized manner intended to cause chaos and suffering. Just the other day, Majed told me his cousin was martyred trying to collect some of that aid. Buying food the “regular way” is still crazy expensive; a kilo of flour can be as much as $700 in some parts of the strip. Which of course is an intended consequence of the 80+ day siege. What can we do but try though?

There is currently $192 in the linked stripe account that has yet to be sent. I have also about $120 dollars to include in the next sum I send him, and it’s awesome that Majed has a few regular recurring donors. Could everyone pitch in or spread the word to help get that number up?

Hi all, I hope everyone is hanging in there. To be very frank, donations have slowed, so I’m posting an update to relay a message from Majed:

“We are going through the most difficult times in the war. We are going through a stage in which we just breathe in order to live. As for food, there is no food because it is scarce in the market and its price is very, very expensive. Food prices are astronomical and do not exist in the whole world. We are now dying slowly because of hunger. We are very hungry, but we cannot buy food because of its high price. So I say to you, my donor friends, your donation feeds us and feeds our children. Please save us with your donation.”

There was a previous goal of reaching $4500 to help Majed move his family back to the north, but the situation has drastically changed and it seems the goal now is to keep up any income at all and keep from starvation. I know many at this time may be going through financially instability of their own, so if you cannot donate, sharing this campaign with other folks is helpful as well.

For transparency, I wanted to contribute to Majed’s funds myself and I decided I was going to match donations starting today 3/18 up to $500. I originally announced this drive on my Tumblr but they removed my post for “non genuine social gestures” and also suspended my main blog there for unrelated reasons (url hoarding). Sucks to suck! I can still see the donations coming in here so I’ll just match any I see until I hit my limit.
